Not-So-Monthly Tips and Updates

10 new email designs in the gallery

Check out the galleryWe've had some awesome new gallery entries this month and it's great to see our customers continue to push the envelope (there's a bad pun in there somewhere). In the last few weeks we've added 10 gorgeous new email designs to our gallery, now totalling well over 160.

Rant: It's time to fight for standards support in email

Let's face it, designing HTML emails is a lot more frustrating than it needs to be. We think the time for complaining is over and the best path forward is to work with desktop and web-based email client manufacturers to improve how HTML emails are rendered.

Read what we plan on doing about it, and add your own comments to the proposed baseline of essential standards we need in email. We'll also be launching a dedicated site around this real soon.

Improve your deliverability with email authentication

What if I told you that with a few minutes work you could instantly reduce the chances of your email being marked as spam, build trust with your recipients and protect your brand from being abused via email. Sounds pretty good doesn't it. Well, that's exactly what you can do with our new email authentication feature.

The "Mark as Irrelevant" button

I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret. There's a difference between how an email sender sees their inbox and how an email recipient sees theirs. Read why not being relevant means you might as well be a spammer.

Free plain text templates

With a little inspiration from a few of our clever customers, we've put together 3 beautifully formatted plain text templates that you can use for your own newsletters. From a simple announcement right through to a chunky newsletter.

How to personalize your permission reminders

Often a vague permission message - "your address was subscribed to our list" - can be even worse than none at all. Check out our tip for using our custom fields and subscribe forms to personalize the permission reminder for every subscriber.

Recent Campaign Monitor Updates

Suppression lists are here

Our new suppression lists feature works effortlessly behind the scenes to ensure you never accidentally send to someone who has previously unsubscribed or marked your email as spam.

Making it easy for Hotmail recipients to unsubscribe

All emails you send to your Hotmail subscribers will now display an unsubscribe option right in the new Hotmail interface. This new feature goes a long way towards reducing false positive spam complaints by encouraging recipients no longer interested to take the unsubscribe option instead.

Chat with other email designers

Our email designer forums have been really taking off lately. We've now got well over 300 members visiting each day with more than 400 posts on everything from email design and formatting tips to API hacks.

Ladies tees now available

Our email marketing tees have been way more popular then we ever hoped. We've sold loads through the site, and also given plenty away to customers doing great design work or helping out in our forums. We recently added some stylish new ladies tees to the lineup.

Finally, a big thanks to everyone who continues to send in their feedback and feature requests. We're always listening, so keep it coming.
